In the book of Genesis, angels have countless powers and are the mediators between God and man.
This image is reproduced from the stained glass window in the church of St Peter and St Paul, Cattistock, Dorset.
The design was created by Edward Burne-Jones, one of the Pre-Raphaelite artists, who was a chief designer for the William Morris Company in the 19th Century.
